This game is great and I would like to continue playing it but it is an MMO and doing it solo or just with my hubby is not how I would like to experience it. Is it worth trying to find another realm or should I just stop playing?
I am even willing to switch to alliance if something is different on that side. I know things have changed since my husband played he has some great stories of how social and friendly it was but I feel as though there are still some good people out there.
We just dont know where they are or how to find them. First off, welcome to WoW! One of the good things about choosing a high population realm as you did, is that the pool for guilds is very large as well. As I mentioned in my linked post, just keep searching until you find one that fits. There are additional rules on RP servers, as well as a whole separate sub-culture that likely contribute to this.
Luck mostly. And perseverance. As a side note, I enjoy playing both factions in order to see both sides of the story for a more complete picture of the game lore. Create a character there and see how everything works out. If you find a home there, then consider your transfer.

A trick to quickly get a higher level character is to level a Death Knight to 70 then start up a Demon Hunter on the server.
Realms are divided up into major regions known as "Locales" on Realm Status ; possibly based on geographical locations of major data centers.
